Raking ratio estimation
Webb28 apr. 2024 · Raking, also known as iterative proportional fitting (IPF), is a method for adjusting sample weights so that they more accurately reflect the true population weights. The goal of raking is to adjust the sample weights so that the row and column totals (also known as the marginals) mimic those of the population. Webb16 maj 2024 · The classic raking ratio estimation method and its extensions are discussed in Sect. 6.4. Connections between the calibration techniques and the empirical likelihood methods are discussed in Chap. 8. 1 Calibration Estimators

Webb23 sep. 2003 · Thus, the variance estimator that takes the raking and the sample design into account is conservative for all cases between α=0.4 and α=0.7. The effect of the design and the raking adjustment tends to be more marked for this estimator, as measured by the difference between the misspecification effects and 1. 7. However, the calibration estimator may introduce high variability in weights and consequently an increase in variance of the estimator which may be relevant whenever the auxiliary variables are not
