As a general principle, moving the front and rear sights closer together makes for less accuracy, because the sight radius is decreased by doing so. There is an aftermarket pin available, but it has to be fitted, and people have had mixed results. Do a search for Mini 14 firing pins at this website and you will find a lot more info about it.
