After 0.7 mile of mostly meadow travel, the views and flowers end as the trail reaches the edge of the unburned forest, at 2.7 miles from the trailhead.

PCT is always a treat because trail is in such great shape. Hiked the ridge trail to Tatie Peak before heading back to Grasshopper Pass trail to continue on to pass. Trail up Tatie is easy to follow and has enough room to not feel too nervous about the exposure on North side.
